Rare photographs of my children holding very still

2005

December 12
I took the day off work and did some geocaching in the area and took some awesome pictures!

December 8
This just goes to show what a dork I am. TNLNSL is an acronym that I use frequently for geocaching.

December 3
Nothing special, just a singletrack trail north of Price. Surprisingly, despite the patches of snow, December is a good month for riding.

I went on a little fossil hunting expedition and placed a geocache while I was there.

October 2
Fall colors and sunset shots while on a Sunday drive up Huntington Canyon, through Eccles Canyon and over to Scofield.

August 7
Walk-Up Lake in the Uinta Mountains north of Roosevelt. Mark and I hiked there to find one of the oldest unfound geocaches in Utah.

My new truck! We bought this to replace my old F-150--now we can fit the whole family in the truck and pull our camp trailer with ease.

May 1
A day-trip to Buckhorn Wash with mine and my sister's family, mostly pictographs and petroglyphs.

April 3
Pictures taken over the course of several weeks in such places as Black Dragon Wash, Utah Lake, The Wickiup, Buckhorn Wash, and Moonshine Wash.

March 5
A hike near Moab with a guy who was, at the time, a complete stranger. We found a geocache together at the base of the rock formation known as Sister Superior.

January 16
The Wickiup is a formation (ok, well, it's just a hill) in the San Rafael Swell which I hiked to while trying to find a geocache.

This is what about $10,000 will buy you when your sewer line gets blocked.

2003

December 13
I wanted my last name, Udink, on my license plate, but the Utah DMV wouldn't allow it. I had to settle for "BADFISH" instead.

November 9
I removed the automatic transmission from my '87 Subaru and replaced it with a manual transmission from my '88 Subaru. I also swapped out most of the front-end components (struts, steering knuckles, control arms, etcetera).

October 20
I drove my family through the northern half of the San Rafael Swell from Price to I-70. Includes the Wedge, Buckhorn Wash, the San Rafael Reef, and Spotted Wolf Canyon.

June 22
Our second child, Bradley.

June 8
I rode my bike up Alrad Canyon to look for a USGS benchmark on a ridge in the Book Cliffs. Didn't find it, but found relatively recent evidence of surveying activity.

April 21
Miscellaneous pictures from three different places.

April 3
Finally, we can go camping in style!

February 26
It's a boy!

February 1
Replacing a blown head gasket on my Subaru. Also replaced most other gaskets and oil seals.

January 21
I bought this car with a bad automatic transmission for $150 and towed it home on a rented ($50) U-Haul flatbed. The jury is still out on whether or not I'll actually do anything with it.

January 7
Shows some cracks in an EA82 cylinder head, which is apparently a very common problem and not worth worrying about (I reused these heads without any crack-related problems).

2002

December 16
Always an exciting day for me each year. I just had to take some pictures.

December 12
This was the biggest repair job I'd done on any vehicle up to this point, and it turned out quite well.

October 16
I sent it in for warranty repair, and they sent it back in this nice case.

October 13

September 19
My new 9mm handgun, and a few scenery pictures thrown in just for the hell of it.

Pictures from two different camping trips--one at Strawberry Reservoir, and the other just off Huntington Canyon on Miller Flat Road.

A bike ride along the Helper Parkway, and the full moon later that night.

May 23
I think I'm going to enter this kid into a medieval jousting tournament.

February 10
I bought a faulty sound card for my computer, but I finally figured out how to fix it.

February 5
Some photos of a pleasant winter drive from Provo to Price. We stopped near the Red Narrows and in Price Canyon for some photo opportunities.

January 4
I paid $800 for this car, and though it survived a new clutch and new head gaskets, it finally gave up the ghost in August 2003 after another blown head gasket and a badly overheated engine. I got my money's worth out of it, though..

December 18
I was supposed to drive from Price to Provo for work, but turned around because of bad weather.

November 23

Pictures from my son's first Halloween.

October 30
While traveling in Interstate 15, doing about 75 MPH, the driveshaft on my '79 F-150 decided to let go.

October 22
Pretty lame. A KSL 5 news helicopter is apparently helping police search for two fugitives from the law. Hey, it was big news in Price!

October 15
Channel 2 camera man setting up to record some footage. This is a block away from my house, where a guy claimed to have received anthrax in his mail, but it turned out being a hoax.
