Ok, Da5id from Baefed.com shamed me into putting their link back up. You know, I'm not entirely sure why I didn't have it up when I changed the layout...but that page sure takes a long time to read. There are usually shitloads of posts each day, and it takes me 10 minutes to read 'em all.

Looks like Mikey over at FileSpanker.com is finally back (his computer was hosed), and he's doing a site redesign. The man says "check back tonight," so I guess that's what I'll be doing.

A couple months ago, I had a poll up asking which instant messenger client was best. AOL Instant Messenger did pretty well against ICQ, though I couldn't imagine any AOL product being better than anything. About a half hour before I was done working for the day, I remembered that I was supposed to take today and tomorrow off as vacation days. My company gave me 21 vacation days this year, and I had a hard time picking which days to take off, so I just chose a bunch of days at random. So I guess I'm taking tomorrow and Wednesday off instead. Boy do I feel dumb. :)

I was searching the web for a camouflage desktop image, but it seems nobody has ever made a decent one. So I took it upon myself to make one, which is pretty difficult when starting from scratch. I was going for the standard old school camo, but it just wasn't happening. The one I did come up with looks pretty good, though.

As you may notice (actually, you probably won't notice), there is now a Chessmaster 7000 icon on my desktop. I've never really been much of a chess player...Ok, I've never actually played chess until a month or so ago, when Ty kicked my ass just minutes after explaining the rules to me. But since then, I've been playing against the computer, and trying to get some strategy goin' on. I still suck ass, but I just might be able to beat Ty now...

Welcome to the new dot com. I would have had it up sooner, but I was having problems getting the poll to work. In fact, it's still not working, but I didn't want to delay opening this site any further.

Things are pretty much normal around here, now that all my belonings are (mostly) unpacked and in place. I actually had time to relax a little this weekend, and do some work on my truck. I put some fog lights on it, mounted back inside the grille, so they're flush with the front of the grille. They look pretty sweet.

Thanks to everyone that helped keep this site from dying while I was moving in to the new house. I left Red Scare's login active, at least until he gets his site up and running again (maybe longer...who knows).

By red scare -- School is for the weak, right? I should stop telling myself that, I think I'm starting to believe it. Like a good little boy, I drive to school and as I am about to make a left turn into the parking lot, this old friend of mine opens my door and gets in with his bong.

I say old friend because we strayed away in high school but we still talk on occasion.

So anyway, he asks me if I want to go smoke some chronic. I sit back, holding up about 765437695432 cars behind me and calculate the number of days in a row I have been absent, then I speed off and get really fucking faded.

I then drove myself home and fell asleep. Aw, what a fuckoing dumbass I am in the sense that I am creating drama with my A.P. English teacher, but I don't really care much either. Second semester, senior year... fuck off assholes, I want to smoke and sleep. Santa Monica Community College here I come.

By red scare -- I have decided that from now on, my goal will be to post on every one of my favorite websites. I'm almost there. Not really, but I've got this place now, I got onto NeoFlux.com, and The Frail, so I am going to take over all kick ass sites everywhere. :] The radio show rocks your ass... or mine. I missed it last week. I have an erection and I think this brings me into full E/N. It's a sad day in gay hell.

Things are beginning to return to normal around here, but I've still got a lot of unpacking and miscellaneous junk left to do before I'll consider myself "settled in" to the new house. Those last three pictures are of my bed. We had to literally cut the box springs in half to fit them down the stairs to my bedroom. Ty helped me out (thanks!), that's him in the center-bottom picture. If you check out the last picture, you can see where we cut the bed, then nailed 2X4s in between the boards that we cut. Then we just stapled the pad and cover back on, and it's as good as new (at least I hope so--it hasn't broken yet).

By ErlK0nig -- Well as one can see in my eloquently put phrase (Leave it to Jay). Well after talking it over with that girl I asked out for Saturday night, I realized that my curse was far from dead. It's simple, I am and ever shall be the "Friend", and doesn't that just blow. Anyway at least we're still going out (even if it's as friends). Ok I got shut down, but I got shutdown gracefully. Nothing left to do now except sulk, and listen to the uplifting lyrics of the great Eminem.

By ErlK0nig -- but I have an excuse. Well you see my Internet provider was free, yes I did say free. Well it was to be an occasional usage, for homework, no pictures (if you catch my meaning;-) connection. When you thrown in the rule about the 10:00PM "curfew", it's obvious that I didn't follow a single condition of the agreement. Yes it's that simple, I abused that like the bitch it was.
Yeah ok, if anyone's seen the current poll at I-O, I shall keep my word. Like I said in the next few days I'll be asking out my good friend for whom I've been pining over for forever (god I'm a dork, yep it's true). Spoon is trying to keep my sprits high, he says that she'll say yes, but I'm not sure. Anyways that's all for now. My dad needs the computer.

By mike -- I looked all around my apartment this morning for enough money to get a soda (pop) for my class this morning. All I could come up with was 25 cents. I put the 25 cents in my pocket and hoped that I'd find some change in my Explorer. No luck, of course. I walked through the commons, keeping an eye on the ground, hoping to find a quarter. Still no luck. I gave up and went to class. I slumped down in my chair, shaking from caffine withdrawl, and started arranging the PC in front of me to make room for my laptop. And just what do you think I found when I moved the keyboard out of the way? If you guessed a quarter, you're just about right. I found 35 cents to be exact. Just when you think hope is lost, sometimes something presents itself.

Hopefully nobody will get the wrong idea about the message presented in this post and jump off of a very tall building, expecting to be miraculously saved just before they hit the ground. Finding a quarter is one thing, growing wings is another.

I don't close on the house until tomorrow, but it's getting hectic as hell now. I had a pleasant experience with U.S. West when I called to get my phone lines hooked up. The woman I talked to was extremely efficient and friendly...quite a shock coming from that company. There was a big mix-up with Questar Gas--they somehow managed to transfer the service to the previous owner's name (not the current owner, but the guy that owned it several years ago). So I had to straighten that up...what a bunch of schmoes. I have yet to call the power company, cable company, internet provider, and probably a couple other utilities that I'm forgetting about. Busy busy busy...

I added some links today too. RebeloNet and Sloppy Rage. Two very kickass sites, I dunno why I never visited them until today.

And thanks to ErlK0nig, BLATz, and Mike for keepin' things going around here for the next week or two. If today is any indication of how busy I'll be, I probably won't have time to even look at a computer. :)

Well, nobody took up my offer for free posting rights on this site, which is actually surprising to me. I guess my site isn't as cool as I thought it was.

I spent most of today cleaning my house up, since the sellers, who were supposed to leave it clean, left a bigass mess. My wife and I just got finished steam cleaning the carpets, and now all that's left is to mop the floors upstairs (all hardwood, baby!) :) We're still scheduled to close on Tuesday, and I'm pretty excited about it. :) Unfortunately, I still have to work all next week, so it's gonna be a bitch having to put in 8 hours each day then spending the rest of the day moving in.

I added links to Get Back at the Man and Simpleminded.org. GBATM is a sweet site, it actually has me laughing out loud sometimes. And we all know that Theseus is the man. :) Unfortunately, I can't view his site in Win98 because my video card causes my system to freeze, but occasionally I boot into Linux and check it out.

I also trimmed down the link list a little. There were a few sites there that just didn't hold my interest anymore. Sorry fellas.

Things are getting slow around here, and will probably continue to do so for another week and a half (or so). I am going to close on my house on Tuesday, and there are a ton of things I have to do before then. Afterwards, I will spend the entire week (and probably all weekend) moving my stuff in and getting settled down.

I'm still undecided as to whether to add some news posters to the site, and public sentiment seems to favor doing so, so here's the deal: I'm giving temporary posting rights (two weeks only) to two people. Just email me letting me know you're interested, and if I like ya, I'll reply with a login for you. :) Simple enough, right?

Oh yeah, and I don't care who you are, anyone is welcome to ask for 'em. Even if you already post on a much bigger site, or don't post anywhere at all.

It looks like the Utah Highway Patrol is laughing in the face of the Utah Supreme Court. The court ruled that the UHP cannot conduct traffic checkpoints without a specific purpose, such as looking for a fugitive, or checking game during hunting season. The day after the ruling, the UHP conducted a checkpoint on Interstate 70. A motorist traveling through the checkpoint asked one of the officers if he had read the front page article abour the court ruling in the Salt Lake Tribune, and the little piggy laughed and said "Sure," then pointed to a copy of the paper sitting on the hood of his cruiser.

What a jackass. The cops around here are all like that. They know they're assholes, and they enjoy it. I personally think it's part of their job requirements to act like that. God knows I've been pulled over enough times to have experienced it first-hand. :)

I would have commented further on the previous post, but I was pretty busy with work. Anyway, I'm not so much pissed that he stole my layout (it's kind of flattering, actually), but that he's too damn lazy to design his own layout. Sure the colors are different, but the design is all mine.

I still don't know wtf is up with this site. Inferno pointed it out last month, and I don't think Solosier ever commented on it (well, not publicly).

I've been hearing about this for quite a while, but saw an article about it over at Baefed and decided to comment on it. It's H.R.2987, the Methamphetamine Anti-Proliferation Act of 1999. This bill is supposed to make it illegal to "distribute by any means information pertaining to, in whole or in part, the manufacture or use of a controlled substance..." which also includes linking to such material on the internet. Also included in the bill is a section designed to make it illegal to "directly or indirectly advertise for sale drug paraphernalia..." which is to include linking to such websites that sell paraphernalia.

What's not surprising is that Senator Orrin Hatch, from Utah, introduced this bill to the Senate, and Congressman Chris Cannon, also from Utah, is sponsoring this bill in the House. Leave it to Mormon Utahns to try to limit free speech. Since when is information illegal? Since never, damnit! I'm sure that if this bill passes the House (and it likely will), it will be vehemently fought by the ACLU and others, and will eventually be squashed. But still, you gotta hate those bastards for even trying.
